Maylin Anabel Cruz Fonseca

Born in Holguín, Cuba, in 1995. From 2019 to 2023, she studied at the Reina Sofía School of Music’s Fundación Ramón Areces “Alfredo Kraus” Voice Chair, with professor Susan Bullock CBE, among others.

She started her musical training at the age of ten at the Manuel Muñoz Cedeño Professional School of Arts in the oboe field. At the age of 15, she entered the José María Ochoa Conservatory of Music, where she studied intermediate level in music and, specialised within the voice field, until she graduated in 2014 with the highest qualifications. As a student of the School, she has attended masterclasses by Konrad Jarnot, Francisco Araiza, and Adrian Thompson.

From 2015 to 2018 she worked as soloist at the Teatro Lírico Holguín Rodrigo Prats (Cuba). She has been semi-finalist at the 21st International Singing Competition of Trujillo (Peru, 2018), winner of the 12th Rodrigo Prats National Singing Competition (Cuba, 2018), finalist at the 2017 National Singing Festival in Cuba and finalist at the Musicalia National Competition of the University of Arts (Cuba, 2015 and 2016). In 2017 she was selected to perform as the main character of Cuban zarzuela “María de la O”.

As a student of the School, she performed within the Spain's World Heritage Cities Chamber Music series in Toledo, Ibiza and Úbeda and within the Soloists of the 21st century series. She was also a member of the Fundación Orange Voces Tempo Trio.

She is currently part of the Fundación Orange Voces Tempo Ensemble.
